Prayer: Freedom
God, you say in your word that Jesus came to set me free, and yet I feel the weight of the burdens of sin, shame, and past. You call to me, inviting me to come to you, that I might bring all that holds me back and hinders me from the freedom you offer to me. You promise me release from bondage and release in me the freedom that you have made possible through Jesus.
I confess that at times, I have neglected to use my freedom to help others to encounter your love and embrace freedom for themselves. Or, I have chosen not to serve and humbly love others. I repent and ask for your help to embrace the way of Jesus. In any way that I have used your freedom to partake in sin or have continued to live in sin, I ask for your forgiveness.
Jesus, your word calls me to walk by the Spirit, be led by the Spirit, to keep in step with the Spirit, to be filled with the Spirit and to bear the fruit of the Spirit! I know that I need to surrender my life to you and to embrace your Lordship and the life that you offer: a life of hope, love, and freedom. Thank you that you have given me your Spirit, through Jesus, and have empowered me to walk in freedom. Help me to embrace the life you have for me
