Prayer: Becoming Like Jesus

CONFESSION

Jesus, we confess that most of the time we do not see ourselves the way that you see us. We struggle to embrace the identity that you have for us, but also all of the benefits and blessings that you have made possible for us in your life, death and resurrection.

REPENTANCE

Jesus, in the ways that we do not walk well with you and choose to live counter to who you have said that we are in you, we repent and ask that you would help us to become the kind of people that you have made us to be, and have called us to become. Jesus help us to align with you and your ways.

FORGIVENESS

We ask you to forgive and help us to live our lives rightly in response to you. We want to know you better, more fully, more truly. We want to become the people that you have said we are in you. Thank you for your forgiveness. Lord Jesus, have mercy.
